Covid19 update.

Hi everyone.
Good news! The Braithwaite courts are now available for restricted play. Please follow the guidelines below. In order to play you have to book a court, free of charge, via the website and then you will be given the code to open the padlock. Hand sanitiser is provided on court, it is liquid so please replace the bottle upright with the cap closed after use. Please follow the guidelines below and stay safe. The guidelines and safety instructions are also on the entrance to both courts.

Guidelines/ Rules for restricted tennis play from 14th May 2020 on the Braithwaite courts.

• The clubhouse is currently closed.
• Members please book courts online. Max of 2 hours at a time.
• One green court will be available and the blue court.
• Anyone can play singles. But only people from the same household can play doubles.
• Please bring your own equipment - rackets, balls, water bottle, food and do not share these items. Please label your balls. Please wipe down your equipment before and after use.
• Please follow social distancing guidelines to maintain a distance of 2m between individuals from a different household at all times.
• Please wash your hands for at least 20 secs with soap and water before leaving for the courts and as soon as you get home.
• Please use the hand sanitiser inside the court on arrival and on departure.
• Please do not alter the tennis nets at all.
• Please ensure you have left the court 5 mins before the next booking to avoid contact with others and please maintain social distancing in the carpark too.

Following LTA guidelines we are very sorry but due to the Covid-19 pandemic our courts are currently closed. Stay safe and stay at home and we will update the website when the situation changes.
The West Cumbria league matches have been postponed until June 2020 and we will update the site when we have more information.

Sunday Coaching Day schedule

The first Sunday Coaching day will take place this Sunday, 6th of May at Braithwaite. To see more about what coaching there is available, please check out the coaching page

The initial dates are as follows, however weather may result in some being rearranged, please check the website home page and facebook group page on the morning to see if there are any cancellations.

New Rusty Racquets Club Night!

Rusty rackets club night (New) – Wednesday 6pm onwards!

Rusty rackets has now been changed from a formal paid coaching session to an informal ‘free for members’ club activities and club night.

Every Wednesday from 6pm onwards between 1st of May and 31st of August at the Braithwaite courts there will be an experienced club member to welcome any new members and host a fun and relaxed club night with a few drills and activities to help bring on everyone’s tennis game and improve their confidence.

There will be free refreshments and a chance to find out more about what’s happening in the club, as well as providing a less intimidating route to get into playing tennis

There will be a specific group chat set up to help keep everyone informed of if the club night is cancelled as well as creating a channel for less confident players to arrange to meet and play more often.

As it’s a club night, we will still charge non-members £5 for attending, however you can stay and play until the last member leaves and locks up!

Get into Tennis! Open Day Braithwaite Courts on Sunday 29th April 2018

Schedule as follows:

11am to 12 noon – Minis and U11’s
12 noon to 1pm – Absolute beginners and 11+
1pm to 2pm – Rusty Raqueteers (you have played before but need a refresher)
2pm til Finish: More experienced players – come and join us for a mixed club tournament

There will be free food and refreshments as well as racquets available if needed. There is also plenty of parking available at the Braithwaite institute. If you need directions you can find the Braithwaite Hard courts here
